Welcome to the website of Connswater Family Practice. We are a four-doctor GP practice based in East Belfast. We provide all core NHS-funded medical services as well as a range of enhanced services and private medical services.
NOTICE TO PATIENTS
Week beginning 8th September
Dear Patients
This week, we are changing our Practice IT system. This is a necessary change and something that is out of our control. Unfortunately, this will cause disruption to our normal service for the next few weeks.
We would encourage anyone needing any prescriptions this week to order between Monday 8th of September, and Wednesday 10th of September. Please speak to the reception staff at the desk so this can be processed as quickly as possible.
From Thursday 11th September, we will have very limited IT access until Tuesday 16th September to allow IT staff to do necessary work to our computer systems. This means we will only be able to facilitate emergency cases on the day and will not be able to issue prescriptions apart from acute medications at the discretion of our GPs for unwell patients. Routine blood test results will not be available from Friday 12th of September to Thursday 18th of September.
When our system goes live on 16th of September, it will take some time for our Reception and Clinical staff to adapt to the new system, so we will be operating at a reduced capacity to ensure that we can learn how to safely use our new system.
Soon after the launch, we will reinstate the ability to book routine appointments. These appointments are expected to start at the beginning of October. During this time, your patience and cooperation is very much appreciated whilst the Practice undergoes this period of transition.
We offer a range of routine and emergency face to face and telephone appointments to suit your needs.
Connswater Family Practice is open Mon - Fri from 8.30am - 6.00pm. We close at weekends and on bank holidays.
Patient Services allows you to order prescriptions, book appointments and update your personal records online.
Repeat prescriptions take a minimum of three working days, so please order in good time before you run out of medicine.
We offer all core NHS general medical services & a number of enhanced medical services such as joint injections & contraceptive implants.

We are accepting new patients - see our advice on how to register as a new patient with the practice, and download our registration forms.
Test & Scan results take at least 10 days to reach the practice . Please call the practice between 2pm and 4pm only for your results.
Dr Catriona Nugent has joined Connswater Family Practice from 1st June 2024 following the early retirement of Dr Clare Craig. Dr Nugent will be offering a gynaecology clinic in which she will be inserting and removing contraception coils.
